Pharmacare of Dubai chooses Safe Vistop CRCs from Astra Plastique
Astra Plastique’s standard pharmaceutical product range has enabled Pharmacare to satisfy its needs for child resistant tamper evident packaging for the high quality prescription and OTC drugs.
They produce these drugs in their recently established world-class pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Jebel Ali, Dubai for Saudi Government Hospitals (SGH) and other national and international customers.
A Pharmacare spokesman explains: “Emerging regulations in the Middle Eastern market require the use of plastic tamper evident closures on liquid pharmaceuticals, however we anticipate that legislation will soon change to require the use of CRCs as standard. Astra Plastique’s Safe Vistop® CRC qualifies as the very best option to fulfil our customer’s needs for the various products we manufacture and fill, such as cough syrups, analgesics and paediatric medicines. We needed to source a significant quantity of closures in a short period time and required them to be manufactured in Class 10,000 conditions to meet the demanding specifications of the Saudi Government Hospitals tender. The perceived value of our products has been significantly enhanced at a competitive cost and using CRCs has also solved some of leakage problems we had experienced previously. In fact, Astra Plastique offers an excellent product range and a level of technical support we have not encountered to date.”
Astra Plastique was able to respond quickly to Pharmacare because of the high output production capacity of the two manufacturing lines for Safe Vistop®, a child resistant and tamper evident closure with the market leading Clic-Loc® child resistant technol¬ogy coupled with Astra’s Vistop® tamper ring, ideal for use on glass containers. The company spokesman continues: “Sourcing Safe Vistop® has enabled Pharmacare to be the first company to offer child resistant packaging to S.G.H., providing valuable product differentiation which not only helped us secure the tender but also clearly demonstrates our capacity to provide first class service in the pharmaceutical manufacturing and filling industry. This decisive action has set a precedent, which will have an impact on local and regional market requirements in the future.”
